Motorcycles are, by nature, cool.  They just are.  There are very few things in life that allow us the level of freedom and exhilaration we experience when riding, whether it’s touring, cruising or hitting the tracks.  And while the majority of riders are men, women riders are the fastest-growing sector of the motorcycle industry, now accounting for a full 25% of today’s riders.

Why?  Well, according to a study commissioned by Harley Davidson, it makes us happy.  It makes them feel sexy.  It makes them feel more confident.  And, according to this study,  it improves their relationships.  What’s not to love?

So, we thought we’d highlight a few of the Cool Motorcycle Events geared toward women.  Sure, other motorcycle events are co-ed, but sometimes it’s nice to just go let it all hang out with your sisters!  And speaking of sisters…

The Steelhorse Sisterhood International Summit 2015

The Sisterhood is the brainchild of Joan Krenning, and will be held in Loveland, CO this year.  Last year’s lineup included well-known riders like Jessi Combs (All Girl’s Garage), and is intended to be informative and inspirational, as well as a lot of fun.  Details are here.

HD Garage Parties

As you might guess, Harley Davidson is the sponsor for these events held throughout the country, all year long.  Designed for the novice female motorcycle enthusiast, they are educational and non-intimidating.  Check out their details here.

Female Biker Meetup Groups

While not technically an event, Meetup Groups are excellent ways for women to connect with other riders.  Women often want to ride but lack partners/companions to ride with safely – this is a great way to build your own riding community.  Details can be found here – just set up an account, build your profile, and you’re on your way.  It’s also a great way to find people interested in the art of motorcycle maintenance – depending on how Zen you are.

Ladies Run of Colorado

Billed as the longest-running women’s bike rally in the country, beginning in 1987, this event takes place in Fairplay, Colorado.  Check out the link here for information about last year’s rally.

Biker Belles at Sturgis tbd August, 2015

Symposiums, fashion, beauty:  read here about last year’s event and plan your trip to Sturgis (remember – it’s the 75th Anniversary in 2015) to include this year’s Belles’ event.

This is just a brief glimpse at some of the events that are geared toward women riders.   While many of these featured events are located in the Rocky Mountain Region, check out the list found on Women Riders Now (calendar) to see other cool women-only events.  And, if you have other events you think we should mention that aren’t found on this page, contact us.
