If you’re still a little new to the motorcycle lifestyle, you may not have been to a swap meet yet. Understandably so, you’re probably a little curious about what all happens there. So allow us to answer the question: “What happens at Motorcycle Swap meets?”
As you’ve already figured out, there are plenty of motorcycle parts offered up by vendors at these events. Not only will you be able to find new parts for your bike, but you’ll also find those hard to locate parts for performance and appearance upgrades. Plus, you can find lots of other parts should you need to replace a broken or missing piece on your bike.
Motorcycle swap meets are one of the best places to find your bike “factory represented.” In fact, some of the biggest names in the cycling world won’t miss the chance to attend these events. As well, they’ll send along some of the most knowledgeable people to answer any questions you may have about their motorcycles.
Not only does the swap meet bring out the big guns in the motorcycle industry, you’ll also find quite a few smaller booths attending as well. These are the folks that’ll usually have the gently used, older, harder to find parts for sale. However, you don’t want to sell these guys and gals short on knowledge.
Being quite a “brand loyal” bunch, these are the people that you can glean ton’s of tips and tricks about their favorite motorcycles. As well, these are the booths that contain the real jewels of the swap meet. If you have an older bike that needs something special, you have a good chance of finding those parts with them. As well as motorcycle parts, you’ll also find other small vendors that cater to the cycling lifestyle in some other way.
These smaller booths have things such as helmets, t shirts, jewelry, buttons, badges, bumper stickers and it would seem, everything in between. However, the ones that’ll most likely catch your attention are the artisans that create and sell riding gear and accessories at the show. These folks have a lot of pride in their work and you can see it in the quality gear they have on display.
When you walk up to the booths of these artists, you can tell right away these items are created special for the motorcycle crowd. It’s quite likely you’ll find things that are as close to one-of-a-kind as you can get. In fact, you’ll often see some vendors creating pieces right in the booth during the show, and it can be quite fascinating to watch them work.
So, we’ve just touched on a few of the things you’ll find at a motorcycle swap meet. From new and used motorcycle parts, plus artisans crafting their wares, you’ll also find booths offering everything from body painting and pin-striping demonstrations to tattoo artists.
Not only will you find all the different booths mentioned, the promoters usually have set up special events for you to attend. You’ll usually find events such as custom and antique bike show competitions, motorcycle auctions, other contests, as well as live music, fun and entertainment for the whole family.
